The University of Kentucky College Of Engineering in Paducah provides students with the opportunity to earn a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering without having to leave western Kentucky. The program allows students from this region to save significantly on costs while providing them with the same types of educational opportunities they would receive on a major campus.
Professors at the University of Kentucky College of Engineering are world class and internationally recognized. The program provides undergraduate students with research opportunities as soon as their freshman year. Numerous extra-curricular and student-led activities provide students with the opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world projects. Educational opportunities also exist beyond the core curriculum. Students are able to pursue additional certifications in fields such as aerospace or other careers to which they aspire.
The campus has recently expanded its lab capabilities to include a maker space. Students with invention or design ideas are provided with the tools they need to bring their ideas to life, propelling them to take those plans from the drawing board to the board room.
Over the past 20 years, the school has graduated 370 students. The quality education and the opportunities provided by the UK College of Engineering in Paducah make these graduates highly competitive in the workplace. Students have the opportunity to receive the education they need to have a real impact. They have the tools they need to be catalysts for change and are prepared for whatever they aspire to accomplish.
