Mayor Bray Awards Nora a Duchess of Paducah on Her Retirement

Noral Rikel formally retired December 31^st.  We had a retirement reception for her on December 21.  Our GPED Board of Directors issued a formal proclamation making December 21^st “Nora Rikel Day” and honored her with a crystal award plaque as well as a luncheon.  Mayor Bray presented her with a “Duchess of Paducah Award”, McCracken County Judge Executive Clymer presented her with the “McCracken County Court Award”, and Austin Wetherington on behalf of Congressman James Comer honored her with a Congressional Record.  Commissioner Richard Abraham also honored us with a Christmas melody for the occasion. Nora had a 34 year career with GPED beginning in 1989.  Nora has been the common thread in maintaining the organization’s continuity throughout the years.  Her level of professionalism, knowledge, commitment, and ethics are unparalleled.  She will be greatly missed.  Please join me in wishing her and Ed the best of health and happiness as they enter this new chapter in their lives.  Thank you, Nora!
